Xinjiang University Students Completed One-Year Internship at NSPU

During their visit to China in May 2023, teachers from the Institute of Philology, Mass Information and Psychology discussed this internship program with their colleagues and students who planned to go to Novosibirsk. In accordance with the agreement between the universities, these students can study the program 45.03.01. “Philology: Domestic Philology” at the NSPU Russian language department. According to the formula 2+1+1 of the studies, the applicants will study for two years at Xinjiang University, one year at Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, and complete the fourth year at their university.

In the autumn of 2023, when China ended Covid restrictions, NSPU and Chinese universities renewed their internship programs for students. Now, the first group of Chinese students have received their documents stating that they have completed training at the NSPU. For 10 months they have been improving their Russian language, learning history and culture of Siberia. NSPU volunteers helped their foreign friends adapt to a new environment and join a vibrant student life. The students were introduced to the university environment and its infrastructure, saw new educational spaces, took part in university events and visited the sights of Novosibirsk. After graduation, the Chinese students spoke about reasons why they decided to study Russian, what impressions they had of Siberia and NSPU, as well as their career plans.
