More than 26,000 people were enrolled in pedagogical universities in Russia, a total of 3,282 students were enrolled in budgetary and extra-budgetary places at NSPU.
– This admission campaign shows that we’ve managed to keep the high results achieved earlier in the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. Last year the number of the submitted applications increased by almost a third compared to the previous year. Teaching professions became interesting primarily because of the development of supportive measures for teachers. So, we’re planning to continue this work. Today’s applicants believe that the status of the teaching profession is improving as new schools are being built and modern equipment is provided. In other words, all conditions are being created so that educators can grow professionally in their favorite area, - said Sergey Sergeevich Kravtsov.
- This year, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University was allocated 2,158 budget places. During the summer admission campaign, all budget places in Bachelor’s Degree, Specialist’s and Master’s Degree programs were closed, - says Elena Ivanovna Kavaler, Head of the NSPU Department of Career Guidance, Preparation and Recruitment of Applicants. The biggest competition was in the programs: 03.44.05 Pedagogical Education (Two Training Profiles): Foreign (Chinese) language and Foreign (English) language; 03.44.05 Pedagogical Education: Primary Education, 05.37.02 Psychology of Official Activities: Psychological Support for the Official Activities of Law Enforcement Officers; 03.44.03 Special (Defectological) Education: Speech Therapy; 03.44.05 Pedagogical Education (Two Training Profiles): Russian language and Literature.
NSPU Rector Alexey Dmitrievich Gerasyov notes that the main part of the admission campaign was remarkably fruitful.
– NSPU is one of 38 pedagogical universities in the country. This summer there are more than 370 thousand applications to pedagogical universities throughout the country. Over 38 thousand applications were submitted to NSPU. So, if we count it’s approximately every tenth. 26 thousand people were enrolled in pedagogical universities in Russia in 2024, more than 3 thousand became NSPU students. That’s more than 11%. These figures show the important role of NSPU in training teaching staff for the region and the country. In 2024, a special priority was given to places for employer-sponsored education. This work was carried out according to new rules: the digital information platform “Work in Russia” was designed to connect universities, employers and applicants and facilitate their interaction. The number of students accepted for this type of education has also increased this year. In addition, we see that even more applicants in 2024 came to NSPU from psychological and pedagogical classes. We always look forward to the graduates of these classes: they are well-career-oriented applicants who will master the educational program more successfully and are much more likely to go to work in educational organizations after graduation, - emphasized Alexey Dmitrievich.
Among NSPU 1-year students, there are 9 people who received 100 points in one of the Unified State Examination subjects and 46 high-scorers (the average Unified State Examination score calculated during admission is 84 points and above), and there are 8 people who are both 100-point and high-scoring students. Also, three winners of school Olympiads entered NSPU without entrance examinations.
