Earlier that day, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev presented awards to the silver and bronze medalists of the games at the Grand Kremlin Palace. Anton Kulyatin, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture at Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University was one of the winners. Known as an exceptional Paralympic athlete and a two-time bronze medalist in the competition, he received the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", II degree.
The Games were held from August 28 to September 8, 2024, in Paris. Russian athletes participated in five out of 22 sports, winning a total of 64 medals: 20 gold, 21 silver, and 23 bronze. In the unofficial medal table, the team ranked eighth in terms of total medals won.
Anton Kulyatin was one of the fortunate athletes who had the opportunity to meet Vladimir Putin in person. According to the athlete, the atmosphere in the Alexander Hall of the Kremlin was remarkable, and the event served as further confirmation that the accomplishments of Russian Paralympians are greatly appreciated at the state level.
– The meeting took place at a high level, in the magnificent Alexander Hall. The atmosphere was truly unforgettable. It's nice to know that our sporting achievements are so highly appreciated. This indicates that we are moving in the right direction, - commented Anton Kulyatin.
