For three days the participants had to respond to new challenges and design a University of Future. 200 winners were announced, but only 50 of them were awarded the main prize – a million roubles for personal needs and 2.5 million roubles for development of their university.
NSPU students were among those lucky 50 – Arina Smykova and Vadim Krivorotov, both are students of the Institute of Culture and Youth Politics. Other participants from NSPU were Andrey Pochuev (the Institute of Culture and Youth Politics) and Yaroslava Kuznetsova (the Institute of Physical, Mathematical and Information Technology Education).
All the finalists chose one of the eight faculties - the Career faculty, the Science faculty, the Safety faculty, the Faculty of Special Opportunities, the Faculty of Constant Development, the Travelling faculty, the Futures of Education faculty, the Relationships faculty and the Faculty of Psychological Health – and then started their competitions.
- Our guys went through a number of serious challenges: online-selection, semi-final in Tomsk and final in Sochi. It’s definitely a great achievement to win in a competition like that and we are really proud of our students. It’s also a prize for the University to be in top 50 winners and get a 2.5 million fund for development thanks to Arina and Vadim. We are deeply grateful for their hard work and efforts, - commented Mariam G. Abovyan, Head of the Student club “Magistr”.
The opening ceremony of the final included the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kirienko, Director General of ANO "Russia, the Country of Opportunities" Alexey Komissarov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs Ksenia Razuvaeva, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Grigory Gurov, State Duma Deputy Speaker Boris Chernyshov, Chairman of the AVC Council Artem Metelev, Deputy General Director of ANO "Russia, the Country of Opportunities" Anton Serikov, General Director of the Russian Society "Knowledge" Maxim Dreval, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Lyulin, The Governor of the Kamchatka Krai Vladimir Solodov and other honoured guests.
- I was in a team to design a special Chabot that can identify and help in sorting various types of plastic waste, like showing the nearest sorting point. Of course, one night is not enough to create the whole program, but I believe it will be possible in the future. I am so happy to participate in the competition like that, - shared his experience a finalist Andrey Pochuev
The delegation for the final was sent by Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. “Your Turn” is a first All-Russian student competition organized by Autonomous Non-profit Organization "Russia, the Country of Opportunities", Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh) and National League of Student Societies under support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
