NOVOSIBIRSK STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY
In 2016, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation officially included esports in the list of sports disciplines. Moreover, since the late 2010s, computer sports have a strong chance to be introduced into the program of the Olympic Games. These unusual competitions attract everyone’s attention, they are becoming more and more popular, and the sphere itself has impressive funding.
The NSPU Technopark has provided a good foundation for the eSports club to develop. Its primary task is to consolidate dozens of student teams in various cyber disciplines: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, League of Legends, Valorant, Hearthstone, StarCraft 2, Clash Royale, FIFA, Mortal Kombat, etc. The Gamification Lab has become a platform for conducting trainings, intra-university competitions and tournaments. The gamers have their own high-performance PCs with wide-angle gaming monitors, PlayStation 5, gamepads and a large interactive panel.
Developing its networking, NSPU.Esports began cooperation with computer clubs in Novosibirsk and established professional contacts with the Novosibirsk branch of the Russian Computer Sports Federation. For the late two years, NSPU e-sportsmen showed excellent results in regional and all-Russian competitions, became finalists of the regional stage of the Russian national award "Student of the Year" in the "E-Sports Club of the Year" nomination, and participated in tournaments organized by universities in Novosibirsk, Moscow, Tomsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, etc. The trainers take advanced IT courses, so, seven members of the club have been trained and passed the exam for the title of sports referee of the 3rd category.

• Festival of Educational Esports - 5th place.
• Novosibirsk league Quazar.GG: top 3 in League of Legends, top 16 in Dota 2, top 16 in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The guys have big plans for the development of the NSPU esports brand. NSPU.Esports is aiming at organizing the Esports Pedagogical Association (CPA), which will unite the esports communities of all the country's pedagogical universities. In the near future, the club members are preparing competitions in phygital sports, where each of the disciplines combines the concept of physical + digital, in other words, it combines classical sports and e-sports or VR / AR technologies.
– I am sure that the skills and competencies acquired here will be an excellent help to our future teaching activities. The game itself is a great educational tool. Esports in Russia will be supported and developed in all industries, – notes the supervisor of the NSPU.Esports, IFMITO student Daniil Kutko. – We’re striving to become the best in the Novosibirsk region not only in terms of the level of the game, but also in the organization of eSports events.
