In general, the number of applications in the main period of the admission campaign in 2023 increased by 90 thousand compared to 2022. The largest number of applications was submitted to the pedagogical universities of the two capitals (Moscow State Pedagogical University, RGPU named after Herzen) and NSPU.
– Pedagogical education has obviously leading positions among other professional fields for applicants in 2023. This is especially pleasant to state in the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. Young people choose pedagogical universities because they provide a unique educational foundation that combines fundamental knowledge and important practical competencies. So, young specialists can use them both in professional activities and in other areas of life. As for the upcoming benefits, they will find interesting work which will provide many opportunities for self-development and improvement of their skills, - commented the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Sergeevich Kravtsov.
In the current admission campaign, the most popular professional areas at the university are: Russian Language and Literature, History, Foreign Languages, Psychology, Design and Journalism. These specialties attract applicants with their career prospects and the opportunity to develop and create a better future.
Applicants from 15 countries of near and far abroad were received at NSPU this year. The geography of Bachelor degree applicants includes such countries as Belarus, Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ecuador. It is obvious that the educational opportunities of NSPU attract students from different parts of the world who are striving to receive a high-quality education at a university with a long history and excellent reputation.
In addition to Bachelor specialties, NSPU Master's programs are also attractive for foreign students. Master's students came from countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Nigeria and Tajikistan. Students who aspire to become experts in their fields choose NSPU Master’s programs to have in-depth study of subject areas and then use their professional skills in various fields of science.
It is important to note that foreign students are becoming more and more interested in studying at NSPU. The total number of applications from foreign applicants for bachelor's and specialist's programs was 1815, and for master's programs this number was 119. Besides, NSPU welcomes school leavers from new regions of the country. So, 7 people from the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic submitted their applications.
- According to the latest data, 35504 applications were submitted to the Novosibirsk Pedagogical University. These results are expected because of joint work and collaboration at the federal, regional and university levels. At the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the project for the modernization of pedagogical universities was implemented in the country, and 385 million rubles were allocated from the federal budget for the overhaul maintenance and technical renovation of the Novosibirsk Pedagogical University. In addition, as part of the national project "Education", new schools are currently being built in the region creating excellent conditions for students and comfortable jobs for teachers. For this particular reason, we can notice a significantly increased interest in teacher education. Moreover, our university is seriously working on career guidance programs. This year, for instance, more than 150 various events have been held to interact with schoolchildren and their parents in numerous educational organizations along the Siberian Federal District. More than 2,000 students from all over the region visited the NSPU Technopark and worked on modern equipment, - notes the rector of the NSPU Alexey Dmitrievich Gerasyov.
