Scientific Theory and Practice go hand in hand. Novosibirsk Joined the District Assembly of the Russian Academy of Education

The business program of the Assembly is devoted to effective management of educational systems through cooperation with scientific departments of the Russian Academy of Education. The program includes plenary sessions, sectional events and exhibitions.

The President of the Russian Academy of Education, Academician Olga Yuryevna Vasilyeva opened the Assembly with her welcoming speech:

- 2023 has been declared the Year of the Teacher and Mentor in Russia. It is symbolic it coincides with the 200th anniversary of the founder of Scientific Pedagogy, Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky, and the 80th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Education. The celebration of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor demonstrates the importance and historical value of pedagogical work, which creates, without exaggeration, the future of our Motherland, great Russia, with its thousand-year history and rich spiritually diverse traditions passed on from generation to generation.

The Chief Scientific Secretary of the RAE Presidium, acting Vice-President of RAE Viktor Stefanovich Basyuk and Rector of Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University Alexey Dmitrievich Gerasyov also greeted the participants at the opening ceremony of the Assembly:

- Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University is the largest university in Siberia and the Far East. In 2023 admission campaign, we allocated 2,258 budget places which included 500 places for applicants of employer-sponsored education. We accept these applicants of the special quota from all the regions of the Siberian Federal District to support the teaching staff of regional education systems, - emphasized the rector of NSPU Alexey Dmitrievich Gerasyov.

Since 2016, Novosibirsk Pedagogical University has also been running a scientific center of the Russian Academy of Education. The university researchers have participated in numerous federal events related to teacher education. They have made a great contribution to the implementation of the country’s independent educational policy using the domestic scientific and pedagogical heritage and the best Russian educational background.

- The Assembly undoubtedly strengthens the position of the Russian Academy of Education as an integrating educational center in Pedagogical Science, and also presents NSPU as a serious research organization that facilitates educational work and projects in a wide range of different pedagogical sciences, - notes Head of the NSPU IIGSO Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Tatyana Aleksandrovna Romm.

The Assembly continued with more than two dozen speeches from leading experts in education creating a constructive dialogue between science and practice aimed at solving specific problems of Russian education.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, professor, scientific director of the Institute for Educational Development Strategy Svetlana Veniaminovna Ivanova held a methodological seminar for Siberian scientists applying for candidate or doctoral degrees on improving the quality of scientific research. Svetlana Veniaminovna shared the effective ways implemented in educational organizations that can help schoolchildren to form and develop their emotional intelligence.

- A baby cannot be born without emotions. How will he show them, how will he be able to control them himself, will he be able to understand another person, his emotions and feelings? All these questions related to emotional intelligence can and should be developed, firstly, in the family and then continue at school. Unfortunately though, today teachers not only forget about the importance of the development of emotional intelligence at school, they themselves do not always have skills in emotional intelligence. And this is a special area which is necessary to work on, - says RAE Academician Svetlana Veniaminovna Ivanova.

The NSPU experts took part in a special sector of the Novosibirsk Assembly devoted to the problems of educational and social activities in the modern education. Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the NSPU Institute of History and Liberal Arts Education Zoya Ivanovna Lavrentieva presented a report on effective methods of overcoming problems associated with the adaptation of migrant children. Professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the NSPU Institute of Natural and Socio-Economic Sciences Tatyana Leonidovna Chepel spoke about the difficulties to provide psychological support for all the students with individual development peculiarities participating in educational activities in educational organizations. Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the NSPU Institute of History and Liberal Arts Education Tatyana Aleksandrovna Romm focused on methods of organizing successful educational work at school, in particular, on the resources that help to obtain desired outcomes from educational activities in all levels of education starting from children's health camps to universities across the country.

Each participant of the Assembly had a great opportunity to be involved into the most current topics in the development of the modern education. The results of the large-scale district discussion will be summed up in April 2024 in Moscow.
